Food, performances and family-friendly activities from around the world!
The International Festival is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year at The Claremont Colleges. It is held in the main quad of Claremont McKenna College, and the day can be spent sampling authentic international cuisine and enjoying performances of music and dance from around the world by both student and professional artists. International Festival is open to the entire community.
International Place organizes this event over several months, beginning at the end of the fall semester. Students, the various colleges and the dedicated Community Friends of International Students provide an enormous amount of support by volunteering their time, experience, resources, talent, and energy to make the International Festival happen!
International Festival will offer food from around the world. For a small fee, you can sample food from around twenty different countries. We also have a Beer & Wine Garden with a selection of drinks from around the world.
Parking & Cost
Parking is free & abundant. There is no admission fee for International Festival. Cash, major credit cards, Claremont Cash or Board Plus are accepted, to purchase food and drink.
Live entertainment at the center stage will begin at 12:00 PM. For children, there will be storytelling, arts & crafts, balloon animals and a magician for no cost.
Participate in International Festival
International Festival is a great opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and community members to get involved at The Colleges. Below are some of the ways to offer your time, talent and knowledge to this event. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to sign up to participate in this event.
The country booths are by far the focus of International Festival. For over three decades, students from across The Claremont Colleges have come together and put in their time to represent a country or region of the world through local cuisine, activities, and other cultural displays. Country booth coordinators and volunteers put in a lot of work for this rewarding event. Country booths offer the chance to bring a piece of another country to Claremont. If you are interested in volunteering at a country booth, please sign up using our form by February 6, 2017. For more information, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
International Place recruits student performers as well as performers from the local community to take the stage during the four-hour event. We are looking for individuals or group performers who would like to share their talent. If you are interested in performing or announcing our performers as the MC, please sign up using our form by February 6, 2017.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
International Festival would not be successful without the hundreds of volunteers who offer their time to help our four-person office pull of the event. We are also looking for volunteers in areas such as photography, stage management, marketing, setup, banner painting, arts and crafts, ticket sales, and cleanup. Sign up by using our form. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at email@example.com.
