Cultural Issues and Hosting a New International Student

Hosting a foreign student can be a rich experience. Often the relationship continues to grow after the student returns home and, sometimes, it is only at this point that both the host and the student realize the impact of the relationship on their lives.

The rewards range from expanding your understanding of the world to discovering a new and valuable friend. Through such personal satisfactions, friendship between individuals from different countries can contribute to world peace and understanding.

Whether you are a new host family or have lots of experience hosting, you might find Friendship With A Foreign Student (courtesy of NAFSA: Association of International Educators) helpful. You can also contact I-Place if you have any questions or concerns.
