New International Student Airport Pickup and Temporary Home-Stay Program. Students begin arriving to stay with temporary home-stay families while awaiting the opening of residence halls (some students may choose to stay in nearby hotels or motels with accompanying parents or family). Note: to arrange airport pickup or temporary home-stay, you need to make arrangements with us at least two weeks prior to your arrival.

Become a Claremont Local in a Day!
An optional day program for students who arrive on the 22nd and 23rd. Meet fellow international students while learning about your new hometown during a walking tour of the beautiful Claremont Village, followed by lunch and a shopping trip for necessities.

International Student Program Orientation Beach Trip
Our program starts with a relaxing trip to Newport Beach (“the O.C.”) with all new International Students and International Place Sponsors. After spending a day at the beach we will come home to a barbeque dinner and talent show at International Place!

New International Student Program Orientation
I-Place staff, returning students and professors will discuss academic and social issues as they apply to international students in the context of American higher education (university level). Students will also be informed of visa regulations and other legal issues pertaining to their status, as well as additional international student resources.
Welcome Picnic hosted by Community Friends of International Students.

Residence Hall Move-in
Home-stay families and I-Place staff help new students move into their residence halls. Students will receive details on this process from their college.
