Please take a moment to review these important reminders crafted especially for the international and overseas student/scholar. We wish you luck as you prepare for your time in Claremont.
The New Student/Scholar form can be found on our website. Please complete it as soon as you have made your travel arrangements to Claremont. This enables our office to keep track of your information in order to serve you better. Please complete the form, regardless of whether or not you are requesting a service from our office.
*Before making travel arrangements, please see the schedule for our New International Student Orientation for important dates!
Students requesting a temporary host family or airport pick-up MUST fill out the New Student/Scholar Form as soon as you purchase your ticket to the United States and absolutely no later than 14 days prior to your arrival. International Place would like to help all students, but cannot do so on short notice. Please fill out this form as soon as you have your flight information.

Complimentary Services for All Newly Arriving Students and Scholars
* Please complete the New Student/Scholar Form to request these services.
Airport Pick-up: For international and overseas students, I-Place offers an airport pickup service (Ontario Airport is the closest to Claremont, but we can also make arrangements to meet you at Los Angeles International Airport).
Temporary Host-family: If you require lodging while searching for permanent housing or are awaiting residence hall move-in, we can also arrange for a temporary home-stay with a local family for up to 5 nights* Our home-stay families are volunteers in the local community: college faculty, administrators, local business and professional people and some retirees – who all share a deep interest in getting to know you. This is a great opportunity to experience a little bit of family life in Claremont before you begin your studies.
(*Sorry, but we are only able to offer the home-stay program to students and scholars arriving just prior to the start of the fall and spring semesters. Also, we are only able to arrange a temporary home-stay for new students and scholars; we are not able to arrange temporary home-stay for other family members, such as spouses, children, siblings or parents.)

New International Student Orientation
Before you book your trip to the United States, please make plans to attend our New International Student Orientation, which is tailored to an international perspective. Whether you are a visa student, or hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and have lived abroad, I-Place looks forward to your participation. The aim of these programs is to help introduce you not only to The Claremont Colleges and the City of Claremont, but also to address issues unique to the international and other overseas student experience. Our program includes a day trip, important information and a great chance to meet other international students! Please see your college’s schedule here and let us know you are coming by completing the New Student/Scholar Form.
