Please be mindful of the guidelines and pickup schedule, which can be found by clicking here.

If you signed up for our Airport Pickup Service for Saturday, August 25, make sure you have sent your flight itinerary in to International Place via email by July 20 and view the NISSO Airport Arrival Instructions before your trip.

CFIS Host Family Program

The CFIS Host Family Program allows exchange students to make a connection with a local family for a smooth transition before moving in on-campus. You should hear from International Place by the end of July regarding your host family.

Students will be met by their host families at International Place (390 E. 9th Street, Claremont, CA 91711) on Saturday, August 25. Please make sure to view the guidelines of the CFIS Host Family Program.

Morning and evening sessions will cover the following themes and more:

  • What it means to “maintain immigration status” for students with the F and J visas
  • Resources on campus for international students
  • Strategies and support for adjusting to life in Claremont and the US
  • Life at “the 5Cs” and how to get involved on campus
  • Being successful academically at a US college

Note that, in addition to the New International Student and Scholar Orientation (NISSO), there will be mandatory sessions and activities scheduled by Pitzer College for new exchange students.
